Saska Brajkovic

Senior Director, Research & Development, Bio-Techne Spatial

Dr. Saška Brajković is a passionate scientist and technology leader in spatial biology, translational research, and experienced in diagnostic product development. As Senior Director of Research & Development at Bio-Techne Spatial, she leads the R&D organization, driving technology innovation, scientific strategy, and product development. Her work is focused on advancing automated spatial biology solutions and leading the development of the COMET™ product suite, including COMET™, SPYRE™, and Horizon™.

Dr. Brajković joined Lunaphore in 2015 as one of the company's earliest employees, when the organization was still in its formative stages. Starting hands-on at the laboratory bench, she developed assays on the first-generation microfluidic prototypes and established the assay development function while contributing to the evolution of COMET™ technology portfolio from early innovation through product commercialization. Her career trajectory reflects a unique journey from experimental scientist to executive leader, now overseeing multidisciplinary teams spanning assay, instrument, and software development, alongside scientific data generation.

She earned her PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr. Brajković has multiple peer-reviewed publications spanning obesity and diabetes biology, microfluidics, digital pathology, multiplex immunofluorescence, and spatial biology. Prior to joining Lunaphore, she worked in the R&D of the Immunohematology division of Bio-Rad Laboratories.

Today, she is focused on accelerating innovation in spatial biology solutions through the development of next-generation technologies that translates scientific insights into impactful research and clinical application worldwide.
