Dr. Cande Rogert is Vice President and Global Head of Advanced Science at Illumina, leading scientists and engineers across the US, UK, and Singapore. Her organization develops the life science tools and technologies that enable researchers to study biological systems. With more than two decades of biotechnology experience, she has advanced sequencing chemistry, surface science, and assay development, translating scientific innovation into scalable technologies for genomic discovery and precision medicine.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Cande earned her PhD in molecular probe design at the University of Manchester and joined Solexa during its early growth, before its acquisition by Illumina. She serves on the Board of the American Cancer Society’s San Diego Chapter and champions inclusive leadership and opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in STEM.
